In my quest to become healthier,  I have almost COMPLETELY cut caffiene out of my diet. Not totally,  but mostly,  so as I strive to totally cut it out (except for my Organo Gold Iced Coffee once a day) I am constantly in search of  "new" refreshing drinks that won't leave me feeling unsatisfied!
I am always seeing people buying flavored waters, so upon browsing Pinterest,  I found a blog (about getting healthy and loosing weight! )

On her blog she mentions making flavored waters that have metabolism boosting benefits,  which you can find here !  Be sure to follow her blog it really has some awesome recipes and tips!

So if you know me you know I love herbs and have been incorporating them into my diet as much as possible.  I have been growing my own,  and I absolutely love using them! So when I saw her recipe for Lavender & Mint water,  I thought now I have to try this!! So following her lead,  of course I have to put my spin on it......

Here's how I made mine!!

I used fresh Lavender and Spearmint out of my herb garden.

Cut enough sprigs to flavor a 2liter glass pitcher.
Washed them and dried them.

Cut the large stems off and cut them in small enough pieces to fit into a heat sealed pot size tea unbleached tea bag.

Seal the bag with a flat iron or curling iron
(I have a flat iron for this purpose only,  being I make my own hot don't worry this flat iron has NEVER been used on hair...only tea bags!)

Then put the tea bag into the bottom of your glass pitcher .....add hot water from your tea kettle enough to fully cover the bag of herbs,  and let steep for at least 15 minutes. I know the author of the other blog doesn't do this,  but I believe it will impart more flavor from your herbs,  and I'm a gal that loves strong flavor (got to satisfy the those taste buds).  You can skip all of this and just put your herbs into the bottom and proceed as she directs in her recipe!

Then after steeping for at least 15 minutes,  put in ice (about 1/3 of the pitcher)  add more water,  and let sit in the fridge at least 15 minutes,  but I do believe overnight would be the best! I probably won't make it until the morning.....I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to go try this after an hour or so!!
Already it smells divine and has a light green color to it!

I have a feeling this is going to be my new way of getting enough water.  Fresh herbs are so good for us,  and this blend can help a troubled tummy,  and help flush your system.  We all know Lavender is naturally calming and can help you sleep.  Lavender has so many benefits for us!

I'm already thinking up more healing / flavorful combinations to flavor my waters, help with healing, and just to enjoy combinations

Please if you try this at home please let me know how it works for you and what combinations you try!  I'm definitely going to be trying her other recipes as well as more of my own!

Until next time......

Wow Almost a year since I've posted.  Shame on me. Well I'm seriously going to try to beef up this blog.  I need somewhere to talk about life and this seems like a good place. I don't know if anyone is still paying attention, if you're not that's okay.  If you are,  I'm hoping to give you some interesting things to read!  First of all I hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Easter!

I got 2 loaves of soap made yesterday! YAY!  What? You ask what happened to the jewelry making? Well..... I still have my jewelry shop,  but with SO many jewelry items out there made in China,  honestly it's hard to sell the real deal online!

Anyway these days I wear many hats.....
